The Team behind the Fluteman

Director: Ines hu

Ines Hu studied concert violin and physical theatre in Austria, Germany and Belgium. Alongside a busy concert schedule with orchestras and ensembles such as the Solistenensemble Kaleidoskop, Ensemble LUX:NM and the Essen Philharmonic Orchestra, she deepened her passion for musical theatre through internships and assistant roles with Christoph Marthaler, Stefanie Carp, Malte Ubenauf and Sven Holm. This was followed by artistic collaborations with the Novoflot Ensemble Berlin, Maren Kessler and Gabor Vosteen (The Fluteman Show). As a musical director and performer, she developed pieces with the collective led by director and actress Vanessa Stern (Berlin). She conceived and directed music education programmes at the Gewandhaus in Leipzig (Der Kleine Wassermann), at the Musikkollegium Winterthur (Pictures at an Exhibition) and for Gabor Vosteen (The Fluteman for kids!). In 2019, The Fluteman Show, which she directed, was awarded the international Young Audience Music Award in Denmark. In her spare time, she most enjoys spending time with her family, working in the vegetable patch or making half-body puppets.
